China’s high-speed trains are one of the best ways to explore the country — fast, affordable, and comfortable. In this video, I’ll show you everything you need to know so that you can confidently try them out yourself.
Hi Lyn, I booked my China trip (April 1 – 21 2026) in June of this year. I just found out from your video that Qingming may not be a good time to travel by train. I already scheduled my bullet train trip from Beijing to Shanghai on 6th April, in the morning. I do not mind the crowds as long as I am able to secure a ticket two weeks in advance. Your advice please. Surely, it would not be as bad as Chinese New Year.
Hi – I would try to wait a ticket 2 weeks in advance but also check manually to see if possible to book a ticket. If you don’t mind the crowds, then it’s fine, plenty of people travel during this time, it’s just a little hectic but totally doable.
